Apple iPhone 5s first availability wave hits, reported low supply

The iPhone 5s is launching today in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and the UK.

The device can be bough from Apple's own retail stores in the US with a plan for Sprint, Verizon or AT&T or from T-Mobile (although T-Mo iPhones are expected to ship between 7 and 10 business days).

The cost in the US is the usual - 16GB for $199, 32 GB for $299 or 64GB for $399 with a contract. We seriously urge you to get at least the 32GB option as the available user storage on the 16GB version is less than 14GB with no option to expand that later.

As for European prices you can get the iPhone 5s in Germany SIM-free for €699, €799 and €899 for either 16/32/64GB and £549, £629 and £709 for the 16/32/64GB in the UK.

The iPhone 5s numbers are reportedly low so unless you're first in line you may not be able to grab one off the shelf today. The same goes for the Apple's online stores, where the device has already been back-ordered.

Nokia 1520 phablet

6-inch Nokia 1520 phablet to be announced on September 26

Courtesy of yet another brilliant insider's info by notorious leakster evleaks comes today's info that Nokia will be announcing its next Lumia smartphone on September 26.

Update:evleaks has just tweeted that Nokia 1520 phablet will pack a 20MP PureView camera. It's unclear how big the sensor of the phablet will be the PureView branding guarantees Optical Image Stabilization and Carl Zeiss lens.

According to a new tweet, the next phone in the pipeline is no other than the Lumia 1520 (formerly known as Bandit). It was not long ago that we saw the first official image of the phone, courtesy of the same source.

The Lumia 1520 is rumored to have a 6-inch 1080p screen, presenting a substantial development, with both being firsts in the Windows Phone ecosystem.We've also recently seen a leaked live image of the phablet, which clearly shows how it compares in size to the current gen of Lumia phones.

iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S tipped to go on sale on September 20

Earlier this month, AllthingsD received a tip saying Apple is going to hold their big iPhone event on September 10. Although the information hasn't been officially confirmed in any way, another rumor has popped up suggesting the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will go on sale on September 20.

The information comes courtesy of Greek blog Techmaniacs, which also points out that Apple is going to start rolling out the final version of iOS 7 on September 16. This sounds plausible, as the Apple iOS 7 Golden Master release is tipped to be out on September 5.
Previously, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C were rumored to begin shipping on October 25. However, this date is most probably concerning only the second or third waves of countries that'll get the new iPhone lineup.
Meanwhile, according to the same source, the company is preparing for a second media event that will take place in October. There, Apple will announce the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2. Both are expected to go on sale on October 25.
The Apple iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S have a hard time staying off the radar recently with their parts and shells getting constantly exposed. We expect more and more leaks to start coming in as Apple's rumored September 10 event approaches.

Nokia's mid-range smartphone, the Lumia 620 is now available for a cheap price tag of $99.99 from Aio Mobile. At the above pricing, the device comes to you without any prior commitments, but the smartphone will be locked to AT&T's network.

Even though, the Nokia Lumia 620 is almost a year old model, the Finnish manufacturer has announced that the smartphone will indeed get the Amber update by the end of September. So, this should make the Lumia 620 deal even sweeter.
